Rolling and roaring from Madrid since 2015, Angry Saints are an unusual alliance, a (wild) bunch of self-taught noise veterans from Australia, England and Spain joining forces to create this powerful but unpredictable, amazing first record.
Nothing New In The Human Zoo delivers a master class of brain-fuelled alternative rock, kraut detours, razor blade punk, power pop hooks, Aussie high-energy splendour and occasional dives into swampland territory.
Raging and ranging from visceral to subtle, Angry Saints do know how to shout about the essential – love, drugs, cars, beer & fear – and how to travel from the desert to the sea and then, eventually, to the realm of nightmares.
They are a cinematic musical trip. They are the technological trap seen from an Antonioni point of view. They are Tennessee Williams riding a hot rod. They are J.G. Ballard escaping the prison camp to play a gig in your basement. A bloody good one. They are life regurgitating itself and your apocalypse of choice. They are one hell of a rock ‘n’ roll band.

A band which defies categorization under the wide Indie-Alternative umbrella, Driive is more than the sum of its parts.
Bringing together all sorts of influences, from the raw direct sound of The Rakes and The Strokes to the nuanced and polished offerings of Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr., Driive's true nature finally shines through in their dancey boisterous roaring soundscapes.
‘’ As of this morning the streets are practically empty in Madrid with all parks and the majority of commercial establishments having been shut down by our government.
We must say that although this situation has also taken its toll on the music community with concerts cancelled and venues closed, we are doing everything we can to keep music alive through online festivals and performances...
But most importantly, that everything pales in the face of the critical public health issue that confronts us and our thoughts and prayers go to all those affected by the coronavirus and our health care workers.
Let's hope we can leave all this behind as soon as possible and with as few victims as possible.’’

PINHDAR is the new project by Cecilia Miradoli and Max Tarenzi, former founding members of the rock band Nomoredolls and creators of the international live music happening A Night Like This Festival. It’s a journey through art rock, new wave and electronic vibes.
Vice/Noisey Italy featured the Videoclip of Toy as one of the most interesting singles in 2019. PINHDAR is also album of the year for the german NBT Radio, out of a list of thousands of major and independent releases.
Their eponymous album, driven by the single “Toy”, has gained an endorsement by the British music journalist and author Kris Needs (biographer of artists such as Primal Scream, Joe Strummer and Keith Richards) who wrote about PINHDAR in the June issue of Electronic Sound and invited the band to play at the event launch for his new book in London.
Also, the attention on their music by some DJ’s at Dandelion Radio (dedicated to BBC Radio 1 John Peel) convinced the band to embark on a little radio promo campaign which led their single to be air played by over a hundred radio stations from both sides of the pond ( KEXP Seattle among the others).

My name is Matty Tyack. I am a British songwriter and producer based in Madrid for the last 10 years.
I am at home right now in Madrid with my wife and 2 sons (aged 10 and 7). The schools all closed last Wednesday and we have been in a state of lockdown since Friday evening. We have not left the house since except to go to the supermarket every other day or so. All other shops, bars. restaurants and public services remain closed and the police are controlling the streets making sure people aren't just hanging around.
So far, we are trying to keep as busy as possible. The kids have been sent a bunch of homework by their teachers and we have programmed other daily activities like baking cakes, playing board games, doing exercise videos on youtube and phoning friends and relatives.
Now and again a little hilarity breaks out amongst the neighbours. I have played a few songs out on our balcony and others are chatting, singing or playing loud music. So far the atmosphere is one of calm resignation but I'll give it another couple of days before people really start to break.
Work wise, I have had 2 concerts cancelled this week but I am also working on a couple of studio production projects which I can still comfortably do from home. Musicians and other creative people I know here have not been so lucky however. Many have seen their whole incomes going up in smoke over the last week. If the lockdown continues beyond the expected two weeks I fear the outlook will be very grim for anyone who is self-employed here.
